Interior of a stylish bar with a marble countertop, bar stools, bottles of alcohol on shelves, and hanging pendant lights.

Bar 167 - 5 Fulton Street

According to the National food blog Eater it “feels like a boozy vacation on the Mediterranean coast”. Full bar, excellent cocktail program. Technically you could have dinner though the menu is high-end and with prices to match. Like with all 167 restaurants, quality is top notch.

Interior of a cozy restaurant or cafe with wooden flooring, chairs, and tables. Artworks decorate the walls, and a bar area with wine bottles is visible at the back.

Bin 152 - 152 King Street

My favorite bar in Charleston. A tranquil, European wine bar with a wonderful collection of people. Excellent selection of wines and small bites.

Outside view of a restaurant or bar during nighttime, with a brick building facade, illuminated lantern, a wooden door with glass panels, a decorative outline around the doorway, and a window with white frame. There are bushes and small trees outside. A person is visible inside, near the entrance.

The Griffon - 18 Vendue Range

A dive bar with over $30,000 worth of signed dollar bills on the wall. Wonderful place filled with nice customers and staff. It’s not only drinks, but a decent menu of not so healthy but delicious plates.

Indoor bar area with a bartender preparing a drink, filled with bottles of alcohol on shelves, illuminated by hanging lights, with a row of bar stools, and a staircase leading to an upper level in the background.

Circa 1886 - 149 Wentworth Street

Located a little over a block away, it's a small bar attached to a restaurant. They offer a $7 till 7:00 happy hour. Tip: Enter the property via Smith Street. Happy Hour: weekdays 5-7.

Interior of a rustic bar with a long counter, dark wooden beams, exposed brick walls, and bar stools.

The Bar at Husk - 74 Queen Street

Set in a small brick 'house' next to Husk Restaurant. Nice local experience, high-end cocktails, and local craft beers. Feels like going back to the 1920s. The full Husk restaurant menu is available at the bar.

Entrance of a restaurant named 'the Belmont' with large glass windows, warm lighting, and seating inside visible through the windows.

The Belmont - 511 King Street

Transform yourself back to the 1920’s in this high-touch ‘speakeasy’ making classic to modern cocktails. Enjoy!

Proof - 437 King Street

A cocktail forward location with easygoing staff and patrons. Easy drop in for premium pre-dinner drinks and experience.

Interior of a modern restaurant with a mint green tufted banquette, wooden tables, and gray chairs. The wall has three framed black and white art pieces and industrial-style wall sconces. To the right, a black metal wine rack holds various bottles of wine organized on shelves.

Graft Wine Shop & Wine Bar - 700B King

An approachable place to discover interesting wines and people alike.

Bar Vaute - 1 Broad Street

A hidden, underground treasure. Behind a nondescript door off of East Bay Street (past the corner of 1 Broad) sits a speakeasy of sorts, located in an old bank vault. Great cocktail and wine experience, with interesting bites.

Outdoor patio with tables and chairs, large beige umbrellas, overlooking a city skyline and water, with bridges and buildings in the background.

Vendue Rooftop - 19 Vendue Range

Located on top of the substandard Vendue Inn. A reasonably priced Charleston rooftop bar, multiple decks catering to the loud and crazy to the quiet and reserved. My favorite go-to rooftop in Charleston.

A bartender in a white suit behind a gold bar with five black stools, decorated with large green palm leaves, bottles, glassware, and bar equipment, in a wood-paneled room.

The Dewberry - 334 Meeting Street

Go back to the 1920s with this traditional, top service, cocktail and wine bar. One could spend endless hours adoring over this art deco inspired lounge.

Interior of a cozy restaurant or bar with wooden furnishings, a bar counter with barstools, and a painting on the wall. There are ceiling fans with lights and large windows showing greenery outside.

82 Queen - at 82 Queen Street

A mixture of tourists and locals. A great place to take in a reasonably priced drink and a quick Shrimp n' Grits appetizer. Do not stick around for dinner, you’ll be disappointed!

A view of a marsh with tall green grass, a large palm tree on the right, and a blue sky with some clouds. In the background, there are water and boats docked at a marina or harbor.

Salty Mikes - 9 Lockwood Drive

A dive bar behind a gas station with some of the best views in Charleston. Sit back and enjoy a surprisingly inexpensive but high quality drink and take in the ocean view.

Last Saint - 472 Meeting Street

Tucked away in an unexpected location, this cocktail bar has a wide and wild variety of cocktail combinations. The atmosphere is for the cool and hip to show each other how cool and hip they are, though a great early drop in kind of place; can get busy in the later hours.
